Who We Are

We are a local papercraft brand created in 2016 by Hugo and Teresa, in Lisbon, Portugal. We design original paper lamps that come in DIY (Do It Yourself) kits, providing a playful experience of paper construction. You can find us in our studio in Cascais where we create our Paperlamps and prepare with care DIY papercraft kits for people to assemble. Meet our team!

Hugo Formiga

Hugo is our head designer employing all his 3D modeling skills to give shape to our designs. He works as an architect in Lisbon and spends a good amount of time building our family of Owl Paperlamps.

Teresa Almeida

Teresa is involved in the design development, production and shipping processes at Owl Paperlamps, as well as communication and customer support. She is also an architect in Lisbon and carries out all jobs that need to be done in a small business.

What We Do

Our creations are meant to inspire people in their everyday lives with beautiful objects. The paperlamps reinvent animals and figures in an abstract manner, exploring the ethereal nature of paper and light. They are standout pieces and they bring their own stories into our homes.

We invite people to embrace a papercraft project by presenting our paperlamps as DIY (Do It Yourself) kits. Each paperlamp is unique and bears your personal touch.

How We Do It

Each design is carefully conceived by us in our studio. We seek to combine the creativity of the design with the lighting solution and the DIY component, offering a product ready to be assembled. We focus on quality — of the ideas, of the materials used, throughout the paperlamps’ development and in our production line. We prioritize sustainability values in the materials we use, as well as in the small and local scale of production. All our DIY paperlamp kits are made to order in our studio with care and shipped worldwide.
